Board Approved Summer Reading

Reading 7

Students are asked to read ONE book of their choice from the list - either fiction or non-fiction. Summer Reading will be assessed during the first week of school during Reading class.

Browse these pages, read descriptions,  and pick ONE book for summer reading:

List of All Titles (no descriptions)

Please review the Essential Questions tab organized by theme before the first day of school. Think about how some of the themes and questions might apply to your specific book. You are not expected to answer the questions in written format, but rather to use them as a guide when reading in preparation for the written assessment you will complete when you return to school.

NOTE: The selections are as varied as are Middle School students. To help you to help your student select material you feel is most appropriate for him/her, please feel free to learn more about the title through Common Sense Media, Kirkus Reviews or any other academic resource.
